How Ordering Works
After signing up through the connector once, a user asks an AI assistant for food or requests a previous order. The assistant can help select the restaurant and dish, while Layout supplies the transaction layer.
The user confirms the proposed order before payment. Layout then places the pickup order and provides tracking through the assistant. For developers, one connection is presented as covering roughly 95% of U.S. restaurants that take online orders.
Pricing
Browsing menus, building a cart, and checking an order do not incur a Layout fee. When an order is placed, the service fee is 3.5% of the food subtotal, with a minimum of $0.40 and a maximum of $0.75; delivery fees are excluded from that calculation.
Layout One costs $4.99 per month and covers service fees during the subscribed period. It can be canceled at any time, with coverage ending at the next billing period.
Restaurant Coverage
Layout states that it works with virtually every restaurant that supports online ordering and is also developing direct restaurant agreements. When a restaurant connects directly, the source says there are no fees for the user or merchant, and Layout takes no cut from the merchant.
