Introduction

Overview

Botloft 0.10.0 expands the AI agent workspace with Windows desktop control. Bots can see and operate selected applications through explicit permissions, while the user can follow their activity in a live desktop panel beside the chat.

The release also develops Botloft's browser, routines, chat, and workspace controls, bringing browser, terminal, files, and desktop access into a shared dock.

Desktop Use and Permissions

A bot asks before it can first view an application and again before it can operate it. Access can be granted app by app, while whole-desktop access is available only from the bot's details after a risk notice.

Botloft primarily uses Windows accessibility controls to read windows, click, type, select, and scroll without moving the physical mouse. Direct mouse and keyboard control is a separate per-app option; moving the mouse, pressing a key, or using Ctrl+Alt+Esc stops bot activity.

Visibility and Safety Boundaries

The desktop panel opens with a live view of the window in use. An on-screen colored ring identifies the active window, and the bot's cursor shows where it is clicking.

Bots can continue working in an app while the user is away after risks are accepted, and Botloft reports which apps were used afterward. Access excludes Botloft itself, administrator-level apps, terminals, command boxes, Task Manager, password managers, and password fields.

Browser and Routine Features

Botloft can open a real browser window for sites that reject automated browsers. A user can demonstrate a browser task once, reopen a bot's closed browser at its last page without waking it, and view a faster live page in the panel.

Routines can pause for a signal from another bot. Bots may also request approval to change or delete their own routines, and questions can wait for a user response in chat or a dedicated question box.

Chat and Workspace Updates

Search now spans every chat. Users can reply to or react to a message without waking the bot, tool calls from a run collapse into one line, and routine messages display the routine name. Bot mentions are color-coded, while memory updates and bot activity states are made visible in the interface.
